Steve and Roslyn Baird (Philippines, DPG Day 9)
Praise God for the safe arrival of Isabelle Joy to Amy and Stewart on 3 August. Pray that Steve and Ros get their visas before their flight to Australia on 8 October. Pray for Nathan and Melanie to find suitable accommodation near Mater Children’s Hospital in preparation for the postnatal hospitalisation for his heart condition.
Phil and Adele Thomas (QLD, DPG Day 10)
Pray for Phil as the operation on his acoustic nerve has been postponed until 7 September. Pray that it won’t be postponed again and it will be successful.
Farid and Parila Qurbanpur (Australia, DPG Day 15)
Praise God that Philip has been stationed at Amberley Air Force Base since May, in answer to Parila’s prayer that he would be posted close by. Praise God that Parila has started a Cert III in Hairdressing at Ipswich TAFE. Pray for opportunities to witness to fellow students and shine brightly to clients. Pray for Farid and Parila as they witness to Muslims about Jesus. Pray for Afghani Christians left in Afghanistan after missionaries have left.
Daniel and Candide Weekes (France, DPG Day 16)
Pray that this week’s family camp is COVID-safe and all attendees will be challenged and encouraged by the gospel.
Jason Stuart (PNG, DPG Day 19)
Pray for Jason to successfully apply for approval to leave Australia and enter PNG with his children. His mission wants him to return on 23 September.
Kevin and Eloise Dyer (Specialists, DPG Day 21)
Pray for Haiti in its political unrest. Pray for Bright Hope as they build four wells and develop an irrigation system in the north-east of the country, where it’s calmer. The goal is to help as many farming families as possible grow economically by getting irrigation to their gardens. They will also grow spiritually as they are connected to the local church. Pray for Eloise as she’s still not adjusting to life in the memory care facility — in fact, she had a fall recently. Pray she recovers well from the cut on her leg. Pray urgently she somehow finds peace and mercy in her situation, especially as her facility is now in COVID lockdown and Kevin can’t visit. Pray also for her protection from COVID, and pray for strength, trust and hope for Kevin.
Daniel and Emily (Restricted Access, DPG Day 27)
Please pray for their island of service, for COVID cases to decrease and for vaccine supply to reach places that have run out. Thank God that Daniel can continue to support the local business and be involved in ministry remotely — pray that he will have opportunities for rich conversations with other work colleagues. Daniel is also thankful for the opportunity in recent weeks to be involved in online English conversation classes with seminary students on our island. Pray for these students that they will grow in knowledge and maturity and that they will be able to see the gospel reach and impact their own neighbours. Jude and Siena have just started at a new school — please pray for a smooth transition, for new friends and that this experience will bring routine and stability for them during this extended period of time in Australia.
Simon and Ann (Restricted Access, DPG Day 30)
Pray for Ann as she has corrective lens surgery to her eyes — one on Thursday 12 August, the other on 19 August. Pray for excellent results and a smooth recovery.
Carol Luttah (CBMPNG)
Pray that Lynn arrives safely in PNG from Kenya, hopefully on Wednesday (her flight on Sunday was postponed). Pray that she settles in well in her new home and at her work as she helps Carol with finances.
