As we look around at the world we live in what do we see? There is incredible variety in all ways imaginable. There are all shapes and sizes of creatures that move on the ground, in the sea and in the air through to diverse variety of plant life living on the expansive and changing land formations and climates of our planet earth.
At night away from the city lights we look into the sky and see innumerable stars. Our Milky Way Galaxy which alone contains 200-400 billion stars is only one of 100’s of billions of galaxies in the known universe!
Then we look at the people around us and also ourself in the mirror and think of all the intricacies that make us into the unique individuals we are with a body, soul and spirit.
Where did all this come from? How did it come onto existence? The evolutionist believes it evolved over billions of years beginning with a big bang.
This study is titled “Creation” and is about what the Bible (God’s Word) tells us.
Read Genesis 1:1-2:4. What is the simple statement the Bible begins by saying how the earth came into existence? Genesis 1:1.
Write down a short summary of what God created on each day.
Consider the following,
God created the earth in an orderly fashion (He did not create plants before light) and He created men and women as unique beings capable of communication with Him. No other part of creation is capable of that remarkable privilege. …. He created it just way He wanted it. #
a. What do the following verses tell us about the involvement in creation of the Triune God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit?
b. What did God create the world from? What do the following verses tell us? Romans 4:17b, Hebrews 11:3.
c. Consider the following:
….The vast galaxy we live in is spinning at the incredible speed of 490,000 miles an hour (784,000 km/hour). But even at this breakneck speed, our galaxy will still need another 200 million years to make one rotation. And there is over 100 billion other galaxies just like ours in the universe. Some scientists say the number of stars in creation is equal to all the sand on all the beaches of the world. Yet this complex sea of spinning stars functions with remarkable order and efficiency. To say that the universe “just happened” or “evolved” requires more faith than to believe God is behind these amazing statistics…. #
How does it all hold together and not spin off in all directions? See Colossians 1:17, Hebrews 1:3.
d. Where did God come from? Discuss the following:
Who created God? To ask that question is to assume there was another creator before God. At some time, however, we are forced to stop asking that question and realize that there had to be something that always existed. God is that infinite Being who has always been and was created by no one. This is difficult to understand because finite minds cannot comprehend the infinite. For example, we try to think of the highest number, but we can’t do it. Likewise, we must not limit the infinite God by our finite understanding. #
At different stages as God was creating we read in Genesis chapter 1, “God saw that it was good.” v. 4, 10, 12, 18, 21, 25. When we get to Genesis 1:31 it had changed to “God saw it was very good.” Why do you think it had changed?
Read Genesis1:26- 2:9, 2:15-25.

Consider the following and discuss in you group:
“From the dust of the ground” implies there is nothing fancy about the chemical elements making up our bodies. The body is a lifeless shell until God brings it to life with His “breath of life.” When God removes His life-giving breath, our bodies once again return to dust. Our life and worth therefore, come from God’s Spirit. Many boast of their achievements and abilities as though they were the originator of their own strengths. Others feel worthless because their abilities do not stand out. In reality our worth comes not from our achievements but from the God of the universe, who chooses to give us the mysterious and miraculous gift of life. Value life as He does. #
What do you base your self value on?
