“The Second Mile Christian”
1. Read Matthew 5:38-42.
After hearing Danny speak on Sunday how would you summarise what it means to be living as a “The Second Mile Christian”?
2. What is the attitude we would need to have?
Read and discuss the attitude Jesus had according to….
· Paul in Philippians 2:5-8.
· Peter in 1Peter 2:21-25.
3. Why do you think Jesus taught his disciples this principle?
Read Matthew 5:43-48 and Romans 12:17-21 for clues.
What important point does Paul conclude with in Romans 12:21?
Discuss how different this is with the world’s attitude of ‘Payback’.
How will our lives as Christians then appear to others? Read and discuss….

· Matthew 5:13-16.
4. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the least and 10 the best) how do you rate your life being lived as a ‘Second Mile Christian’ in the following areas?

5. What are things that hinder us living as Second Mile Christians? Which do you have victory in and which do you struggle with in the above three areas? Share with others in your group.
6. Discuss with each other what steps can we take to help? Read the following and summarise.
· Romans 12:1, Luke 9:23.
· Colossians 2:6-7, Galatians 5:16-26,
· 1 Corinthians 10:31-33, 1 Corinthians 15:58.
· 1 John 3:1-3, Colossians 3:1-3.
7. Finish by praying about those things you discussed and applying them to your relationships with people at home, work and your enemies.
