Byron and Lyn Johannesen (Colombia, DPG Day 4)
Pray for a great drop in Colombia’s rising COVID cases and deaths, and for peace to return.
Stephen and Lorraine Cavill (QLD, DPG Day 6)
Praise God that G prayed the prayer of commitment after doing Christianity Explained with Lorraine. Pray that she’ll continue to grow in her faith and knowledge of what a Christian is, and pray she’ll read her Bible. Praise God for Principals who support RI; pray that RI continues to bear fruit. Pray for the postponed Alpurrurulam (Lake Nash) Aboriginal Convention in June. Praise God for His provision and protection during the CWCI Safari. Pray for the two groups who want to start Know Your Bible in their town, and that those ladies who attend will continue to grow in their faith. Pray for Stephen to find the right engineer for future services on the Cessna. Pray for Stephen and Lorraine to travel safely — their furlough has just started, and they will go to Victoria soon to see their daughter Emma whose baby is due at the end of June; pray for a safe delivery. Pray that there won’t be COVID disruptions.
Ian and Leann Buckley (Nepal, DPG Day 8)
Pray for Namuna (Netra’s wife) who has been very sick the past week or so. Namuna and their two small children have tested positive to COVID. Another young couple that Ian and Leann know very well have COVID too. They are slowly recovering and Amar had a stint in hospital. Praise the Lord for encouraging teaching times with Kumar, going through my last book Looking for the Blessed Hope. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give Kumar a good understanding of His Word so that he can teach others also. Praise the Lord for the online Q&A time with 20 Nepali believers yesterday. Praise the Lord for the builder that God has given them and for their house plans which are now going through council. Pray for the small loan they need to build their house to lock-up stage.
Paul and Erin Strahan (Australia, DPG Day 16)
Praise God for a $15,000 grant from council to develop a Sensory Activity Park. Praise God for more School Connect kids. Pray that Paul can get the van fixed soon. Pray that God provides more female NDIS support workers. Pray for the solo mum and her son who moved have temporarily moved into the ladies’ house until they find a permanent home. Pray for the other women in the house as they seek to serve this family. Praise God for the sharing and encouragement at the weekly staff meetings and at Community Night, when workers and volunteers shared how God has worked in and through them. Pray that Paul and Erin communicate well with each other and with their team members with so much going on and so many needs. Pray that they can continue to focus their attention on Christ and trust Him daily. Pray for the June long weekend convention in Collarenebri.
Carol Luttah (CBMPNG)
Praise God for support (financial and through prayer and calls) and care packages. Pray that she can find suitable national workers to fill various positions: bookshop managers, sales manager and properties manager. Pray for visa approval and travel exemptions for a new missionary to travel to PNG. Pray for improved sales and distribution of materials across PNG. Pray for safety and protection from illnesses. Pray for good and healthy relationships with local churches and mission organisations. Pray for short-term missionaries to support various arms of the CBM ministry.
