Kara McLaughlin (South Africa, DPG Day 2)
Praise God that the team was able to share the story of Acts 27 with church leaders and Care Workers in Macadeira and Chigodole last Thursday and Friday, and that those listening began to apply lessons of faith and challenge to their own lives. Pray for them now as they share the story with children and families in these sometimes tough communities.
Byron and Lyn Johannesen (Colombia, DPG Day 4)
Praise God that Olmedo no longer needs dialysis. Pray for Byron as he has a fatty lump removed from his back.
Paul and Debbie Howells (Philippines, DPG Day 9)
Pray for the church in San Miguel (close to Lapoc) as one of the mothers tested positive to COVID and some contacts are in quarantine. Pray for their protection and strength while being house-bound. Pray that Paul and Debbie can get home to Jubab for Christmas. Pray for Paul and Debbie as they work on a Bible study tool that can be used both for Bible study and outreach. It will be in English, Cebuano and Talaandig/Higaonon.
Paul and Gerrah Kulikovsky (Philippines, DPG Day 9)
Pray that Paul can get his (limited validity) passport soon so that he can renew his permanent residency papers. Pray that Paul and Gerrah will have the opportunity to visit Australia soon. Praise God that over the last four months the Sulangan church has had an average of 40 worshippers each Sunday. Praise God that some local people have become more committed. Praise God that Anto and his family have been regular attendees. Pray for Paul as he helps Karl at Sulangan. Karl has a discipleship group each Tuesday night, leads the youth group on Wednesday afternoons, and works on school requirements for the Department of Education. Paul has been renovating the house/church in Sulangan, as well as making repairs in Guiuan. Pray for Gerrah as she spends time with the ladies.
John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Praise God that a couple of Australian donations have gone towards supporting ITeams NL work among Roma families, and there have been opportunities to build trust and share the gospel. Praise God that Margreet finally could leave Uganda after being stuck there during the COVID crisis. Praise God for good contact made with Albanian families during the Brussels outreach in July. Praise God that Kathy has teaching contracts this month and got her first new one since March. Pray for Kathy and John as they start teaching refugees again. Pray for the ITeams NL office team as they return to work after the summer break. Pray for wisdom, vision and strength for John as he’s part of the new leadership team. Pray for an admin coordinator to join the ITeams NL leadership team. Pray for John as he prepares to teach two OT courses, preach and lead a retreat.
John and Remy Tan (VIC, DPG Day 17)
They are all working, studying and living at home through Melbourne’s Stage 4 lockdown. Please pray for their family relationship dynamics through this stage. Pray regarding their computer problems at home. Their personal computers have been problematic lately especially the ones that Janelle and Remy are using. Pray for Remy’s training as Budget Coordinator for Wycliffe Australia members. Pray that she will quickly learn the policies and procedures and also understand the financial situation of each member.
Simon and Ann (Restricted Access, DPG Day 25)
Praise God they are now in NZ. Pray for them as they plan to help another Asian Training Centre after their home assignment. Please pray for them to get visas.
Bronwen Cruickshank (AMT, DPG Day 29)
Praise God that Bronwen has responded to Cortisol supplementation to increase her sodium level and she is feeling better for it. Pray that this is the way forward for her and will resolve her symptoms. Thanks for your prayers.
Carol Luttah (CBMPNG)
Pray for improved sales in the bookshops. Pray for safety for staff and security in the outlets during this week’s Independence Day celebrations. Pray for creative ways to rest in-country as travel restrictions persist globally.
Pray for the complete resolution of Chris’ painful and tiring plantar fasciitis (inflammation of connective tissue in her sole). Pray that the school will meet COVID regulations when the school inspectors visit. Pray for the schooling situation in Kenya. The government is resistant to opening schools until 2021. Universities can’t comply with strict regulations and are running online courses — but most students don’t have computers. Pray for two new boys at the centre, Joseph and Brian, who were orphaned after their parents’ murder-suicide. Pray for God’s mercy on and healing of their young lives. Praise God that an ex-residential child, now an accountant, stood firm against corruption.
