Bethany Kapezya (DR Congo, DPG Day 1)
Bethany plans to return to Australia in mid-October, to attend to some personal matters. Pray for Claude and the family as she is away, and that the ongoing school situation will be resolved with clear godly decisions. Pray too, that Bethany’s time in Sydney is deeply refreshing.
Tim and Merryn Fawssett (Australia, DPG Day 15)
Pray that the CHAT Project (‘’Cultural Hearing Asking Telling”) designed specifically for school chaplains will help young people to engage well with their peers of different faiths or cultures.
Leonie Johannesen (Fiji, DPG Day 16)
Thank God that the children and teenagers at Lomani receive love and care despite a tight budget. Pray for Leonie and Grace as they learn sign language together so that Grace can ‘find her voice’.
Gavin and Janet Petersen (Portugal, DPG Day 15)
Gavin and Janet return to Portugal on Tuesday October 1 after a busy time here. Please pray for their adult sons who remain here in Australia: Sam (with Jen and Abigail), Elliott and Josiah.
Kara McLaughlin (South Africa, DPG Day 2)
Thank God that the Care Workers Workshop in Chinaka B Community (Zimbabwe) has not only provided excellent training but also resulted in a number of participants accepting Jesus as Lord.
John and Karen Short (China/Hong Kong, DPG Day 8)
Please pray that the Co-workers Conference (scheduled for mid-October) goes ahead as planned in these uncertain times. Some Assembly meetings have had to be cut back because of the disruptions to transport but praise God that there are still opportunities for sharing the Good News and for distributing 10 000 copies of The Wonder of the Book into 9 provinces.
David and Tina Cannon (Thailand, DPG Day 12)
Pray for David and Tina as they settle into their new role with member care for a large team in Thailand. It’s a multi-faceted role so they need wisdom as they listen to people, build relationship and plan strategically for how best to offer support and care.
Tess (Restricted Access, DPG Day 24)
Tess has arrived safely in her new country. Thank God for her 2 housemates and that their apartment is in a leafy area close to both language school and the markets/commercial area. Tess began language school on Sept 30: the course is very intense so please pray that she will cope with the pace. While the country is in deep economic crisis, there is a thirst for Bibles & interest in creative ways of learning about God. There have been several earthquakes in the area: please pray for protection.
Bill and Sandra Callister (PNG, DPG Day 16)
Piesa and Tamoli arrived as planned on 26 September. Pray for a productive month of translation.
Ian and Leann Buckley (Nepal, DPG Day 9)
Praise God that already hundreds of God Has Spoken books have been distributed with many churches wanting more. Pray for impact as they are used in training by church-planters. Translation of the Leaders Manual has been completed. Several other GHS books and family Studies need to be translated. Please pray for the right people to help with this (in Nepal and potentially in Australia).
