Pray for them as they grieve the passing of Rory last week.
Richard and Linda Buchanan (QLD, DPG Day 8)
Richard sustained a crush injury to his left thigh 2 months ago, but thankfully there is no fracture. Pray that the remaining haematoma will settle down soon and won’t be an issue as far as flights are concerned. Pray for Linda’s mum to stay as well as possible, especially when Richard and Linda are away for meetings. Pray for their safe travel interstate and overseas.
Ian and Leann Buckley (Nepal, DPG Day 9)
Pray for Leann to be able to get a student visa for an Arts course. They only have six weeks before returning to Australia at the end of April. (The business visa cost increased to a prohibitive USD70K.)
Jason and Kim Job (Timor-Leste, DPG Day 12)
Pray that the MAF engineers will be able to get the planes back into the air quickly, to allowTim Southcott to do his training before the Chief Pilot leaves next week. Praise God that the Job family has been protected from recent outbreaks of sickness in Dili. Please pray for continued protection over their health and for those who are suffering. Pray for the Jobs as they head to England this Saturday for a holiday and MAF meetings. Pray that their break might be relaxing, safe and will renew Jason and Kim for their life and ministry. Pray for the smooth running of things in Timor-Leste while they are away.
John and Kathy Harris (Netherlands, DPG Day 14)
Praise God for a safe, productive and beneficial trip through the Balkans, and for good connections with ITeams workers in Croatia and Serbia. Praise God that John’s book on the alien was appreciated at the refugee conference. Praise God that John is adjusting to teaching English to refugees on Tuesday evenings. Praise God that Kathy is getting new teaching contracts as others finish. Pray that Kathy and John will be people of hope and encouragement to their refugee students. Pray for John to have wisdom as he advises, coaches and encourages workers, some of whom are facing challenging situations.
Pray for the Brussels Project team as they leadan outreach to Albanians in Brussels from 22 to 29 March. Praise God that Martine, Andre’s fiancée, has a job in Brussels. Pray for her to find good accommodation as she moves there, and pray that she will adjust well to her work. Pray for Andre to make progress with his thesis, and for Dane as he moves forward with his Masters in Classical Composition application process. Pray for the Lyons family, who serve refugees in Austria, to be refreshed while on home assignment. Pray for ITeams NL workers Carola and Shelton who serve in Zimbabwe, and Hilde who serves in South Sudan — both difficult places with social, political and security challenges.
Gavin and Janet Petersen (Portugal, DPG Day 15)
Praise God for good progress with the two English classes in Grace Space and Claudio’s chronological Bible study. Pray for Janet as she reads ‘The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus’ with a friend, and as she reads the Bible with two ladies in a discovery group. Pray for Gavin and Janet as they plan for a brief mid-year furlough.
Bruce Young (Spain, DPG Day 15)
Pray for Bruce as he has an operation on 14 March to remove a chest mass (debulk the mesothelioma). Pray that all goes smoothly and that Bruce can breathe better soon.
Seng Hock and Luba (Restricted Access, DPG Day 25)
Praise God that Isabel got into Occupational Therapy at Monash, and someone living nearby works at the campus, so she can get a lift.
Corey and Amber Tobias (West Africa, DPG Day 28)
Praise God that the Tobias family have arrived and all their luggage arrived safely. Pray that they can settle into a good routine and that they maintain a healthy balance between family, language learning, school and work. Pray for the provision of a reliable car and furniture to purchase. Pray for workers to join them on the field, in particular hospital administrators, an OB/GYN who is interested in fistula repair, and a general doctor. Pray for the people further east of where they are, who are being persecuted right now, that God will protect them and give them strength.
Gordon Cowell (AMT Director, DPG Day 29)
Gordon is undergoing cancer surgery on Wednesday 13 March and he would value prayer support. Pray that he makes a full and speedy recovery.
