Byron and Lyn Johannesen (Colombia, DPG Day 4)
Pray for Byron as he leads church services via Zoom. Pray for the new assembly in Neiva, and pray especially for Martin who is close to being saved. Pray for their daughter Leonie Johannesen (Fiji, DPG Day 15) as she cares for her daughter Grace and the children and staff at Lomani Children’s Home.


Paul and Daphne Chapman (Venezuela, DPG Day 6)
Praise God that the Venezuela Relief Fund in Michigan has been able to send and distribute food aid to Venezuelans. Pray for Venezuela as it copes with lockdown. Pray that COVID-19 is kept in check as the hospital system won’t cope with a surge in cases. Praise God for Paul and Daphne to connect with assemblies in Sydney and Melbourne in February, and for opportunities to connect with Toowong assembly members and Colombian believers via Zoom. Pray that they can encourage Venezuelan believers via WhatsApp.


Mark and Alex Ronalds (India, DPG Day 8)
Praise God for His grace and provision as the Ronalds are now safely in Bournemouth, where they are in quarantine.


Elizabeth Pfeifer (Philippines, DPG Day 10)
Pray for Liz as she continues to help with IT tasks for SIL in Asia. Pray for her as she leads the IT support team for the SIL International Conference’s virtual meetings in May.


Jason and Kim Job (Timor-Leste, DPG Day 11)
Pray for Jason, Kim and Sam as they spend these days apart. Pray for Jason to stay safe as he continues to do medevacs. Pray for Kim as she Pray for Jason and Kim’s plans of finishing in Timor-Leste at the end of June. Jason plans to start an aviation engineer apprenticeship at MAF’s engineering hub in Mareeba QLD in 2021. Pray for someone to fill Kim’s Communications role; someone has applied for Jason’s Country Director role. Pray for all three of them as they finally leave. It’s been particularly hard for Kim and Sam as they didn’t have much opportunity to say goodbyes — pray for them as they process their grief. Praise God for a new MOU between the Timor-Leste Department of Health and MAF, which enabled workers to get longer stay visas and for MAF to continue to serve there for another 18 months.


Jon and Janet Mitchell (PNG, DPG Day 17)
Praise God they are safe in Kavieng. Pray for the Meta Kavi church to stay strong and depend on the Lord during this period of separation. Pray that believers and Bible study groups will continue to meet. Pray for Jon as he continues preparing lessons for the study on Romans. Pray for Jon and Janet to stay safe and healthy even as they wait on the Lord’s next step for them.


Ian and Leann Buckley (Restricted, DPG Day 22)
Praise God that Kumar has led worship, prayer and Bible study in the training house while Netra was away after his mum passed away. He even taught truths on the Christian life from Ian’s third book ‘Not I But Christ’. Pray for poor believers who have lost jobs and haven’t been able to meet together. Praise God that Leann’s been illustrating Ian’s second book ‘Accurately Handling the Word of Truth’. Ian is exploring teaching the Bible online. Daniel and Emily (Restricted Access, DPG Day 22)
In the midst of all this uncertainty, they are thanking God for His provision of their apartment in Melbourne during these months of waiting and for their children being able to continue with distance education. They are all doing ok and are still taking steps to get medical clearance to return overseas when the Australian government allows international travel and it is safe to do so. They are concerned for their host country and how the virus is spreading there. The testing is so limited and many people already have underlying health conditions. Please pray for good governance and for people to comply with government rulings. They are praying too that the drastic and turbulent changes around the world will cause people to seek God and find Him.


David and Stacie Coates (Restricted Access, DPG Day 22)
Pray for David and Stacie to recover quickly from COVID-19. Pray that symptoms will stay mild and go completely soon.


Leigh and Tamara (Restricted Access, DPG Day 24)
Praise God that the Nepalese government has been compassionate to the needy during this crisis, as has been the local church and the Christian staff. Pray for Leigh, the COVID-19 Response Team, and the INF leadership to make wise decisions in these uncertain times. Pray for all the GPHRC staff to rise to the challenge of caring for people who are potentially infected with COVID-19, in a culture where stigma and rejection can be a very powerful force. Pray for new avenues of connection with the youth, the ladies’ fellowship, and the church community. Pray for Tamara looking to juggle home-schooling of Mikayla, Jasmine, and Cole, while also supporting the science education of other families’ children.


Simon and Ann (Restricted Access, DPG Day 25)
Pray for Simon as he prepares detailed yet easier-to-understand theology notes for his students. Praise God that Simon and Ann feel refreshed and encouraged although they may only get to return on home assignment in September.


Carol Luttah (CBM)
Pray for Carol to have wisdom in how to operate in these uncertain times, including how to pay the staff during this time. Pray for confidence in God to keep her and her colleagues safe under His wings, and to sleep without fear and anxiety. Pray for strength and courage in the face of backlash from the community.


Talitha Follent (candidate, PNG)
Pray for Talitha as she continues to raise support to be a teacher at Ukarumpa. Pray that God will sustain her during this time of waiting — both from the travel as well as the financial points of view.


Pray for countries where hospitals don’t have the resources to handle COVID-19 cases. Pray for protection of health care workers.
